Level 1: Orientation

    Senior Member Orientation

    Typically completed within the squadron.

    Upon Completion:


    Membership Ribbon

    Cadet Protection Program Training

    Typically completed within the squadron.

    Senior Member Handbook

    Self-study
     

    Select Specialty Track

    With consideration of squadron duty assignment.
     

    Six (6) Months as Sr. Member

     

    Upon completion, eligible for promotion:

     
    2d Lt or FO
    (Gold)

 

 

Level 2: Technical Training

    Technician Rating

    1+ Specialty Track(s)

    On-the-job-training (OTJT) and self-study on your Specialty Track(s) as described in the appropriate CAP Pamphlets. (See your Professional Development Officer.)

    Upon Completion:


    Leadership Ribbon

    Twelve (12) Months as 2d Lt. or FO

    Along with Leadership Ribbon

    Upon completion, eligible for promotion:

     
    1st Lt or TFO
    (Silver)

    Yeager Aerospace Ed. Achievement Award

    Optional. Self-study, Open-book examination.

    Upon Completion:


    Yeager Ribbon

    Squadron Leadership School

    These classes are held by Wing each year.
     

    Senior Officer Course - (AFIADL:13)

    Self-study, 4 volume program, closed book examination  

    Eighteen (18) Months as 1st Lt. or TFO

     

    Upon completion, eligible for promotion:

     
    Capt or SFO
       
    Certificate of Proficiency

 

Level 3: Management

    Senior Rating

    1+ Specialty Track(s)

    On-the-job-training (OTJT) and self-study on your Specialty Track(s) as described in the appropriate CAP Pamphlets. (See your Professional Development Officer.)

    Upon Completion:


    Leadership Ribbon
    w/1 Bronze Star added

    Twelve (12) Months Total in Command or Staff Assignment (Minimum)

     

     

    Corporate Learning Course

    These classes are held by Wing each year.

     

    Attend two (2) Conferences (National, Regional, or Wing)

    These are held at least once per year at each level.

    Upon Completion:


    Loening Ribbon

    Thirty six (36) Months as Capt. or SFO

     

    Upon completion, eligible for promotion:


    Maj
    (Gold)

 

Level 4: Command & Staff

    Master Rating

    1+ Specialty Track(s)

    On-the-job-training (OTJT) and self-study on your Specialty Track(s) as described in the appropriate CAP Pamphlets. (See your Professional Development Officer.)

    Upon Completion:


    Leadership Ribbon
    w/Silver Star

    Twenty four (24) Months Total in Command or Staff Assignment (Minimum)

     

     

    Region Staff College

    These classes are held by each year.

     

    Staff Member for:

    SLS, CLC, or Wing, Regional, or National Conference

    Any one position satisfies the requirement.

     

    Public Presentation to a Non-CAP Group

    Aerospace Education Presentation

    Receive Yeager Award

    Any one satisfies the requirement

    Upon Completion:


    Garber Ribbon

    Forty eight (48) Months as Maj.

     

    Upon completion, eligible for promotion:


    Lt. Col.
    (Silver)

 

Level 5: Command & Staff

    Thirty six (36) Months Total in Command or Staff Assignment (Minimum)

     

     

    National Staff College

    These classes are held by each year.

     

    Staff Member for: Regional, or National Conference

    Director for a(n): SLS, CLC, UCC

    Any one position satisfies the requirement.

     

    Conduct a Level 1 Orientation Course

     

    Upon Completion:
