Commander's Welcome

Welcome and thank you for visiting the Inter-State Composite Squadron's official website. I encourage you to browse the site and learn more about our squadron and about Civil Air Patrol in general.

You may already be familiar with CAP, having seen our senior officers or cadets helping with security at air shows, participating in disaster relief training and operations, or in your schools.  You may have also seen our distinctive red, white, and blue aircraft overhead. However, you may not have seen our cadets learning to fly in orientation flights, or attending various academies and encampments with members from across the region honing our emergency services skills, or developing the skills needed to become leaders of our generation and generations to come.

Civil Air Patrol across the country conducts 85% or more of all inland search- and-rescue in the United States.  In Washington state, we work in coordination with the Washington State Department of Transportation's (WSDOT) aviation division in serving the emergency services needs of our community.

This website and our other outreach and public relations efforts are dedicated to telling you about what we do, and to telling you what I believe is the most impressive thing about CAP:

That all of this is accomplished by volunteer citizens just like you and me.

CAP, and the Inter-Sate Composite Squadron in particular, provides opportunities in aerospace education, operations, and cadet programs that are unparalleled anywhere else.  Do you think that the prospect of spending a day refueling F-16s over Washington, Idaho, and Montana might motivate you or a young person you know? Our cadets periodically have the opportunity for just such an experience with the 141st Air Refueling Wing at Fairchild AF Base.

Do you have skills in aerospace science, administration, aviation, medicine, communications, law, accounting, or other fields that you'd like to share or put to work with a receptive audience and energetic group of like-minded people?  Our senior officer and cadet members do just that in support of drug demand reduction, disaster relief, search and rescue, homeland security, and other Missions for America.

This website will communicate all of that and more. It is another of our efforts to stay in contact with the communities and constituencies that we serve on the Palouse - To show you in objective and transparent ways our enthusiasm, dedication, and competence.

If you think that CAP, and the Inter-State Composite Squadron in particular, might be for you, please click on the Contact Us or How to Join link in the menu. We would be delighted to hear from you and to talk about opportunities in our organization.

But most of all, we look forward to serving you and your community.

Sincerely,

Scott Campbell

Commander,
